Rion Norris

Rion was admitted as a solicitor in the UK in 2006. He has worked in litigation teams in national law firms in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. He joined the independent bar in 2022.
He has a wide range of litigation experience, particularly in large-scale project type litigation (e.g. group litigation against 600 UK firms of lawyers, acting for D&O insurers in relation to the collapse of the Sydney Cross-City Tunnel, acting for a NZ university in relation to earthquake damage to campus buildings).

He has also spent many years defending complex and high value professional negligence claims against lawyers, accountants, IFAs, architects etc. This includes time spent in the professions team at a global insurer in London.

Rion’s current litigation practice is wide-ranging and includes civil and insurance litigation instructions.

Rion is also interested in the ways technology can disrupt the practice of law and improve access to legal services. To date, using document automation software, he has developed fixed fee solutions for probate and limited licences.
