Peter Whiteside KC

Peter has appeared as counsel in over 60 reported cases. He commenced practice as a barrister in 2013 and was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2014. Prior to that he was a partner at Wynn Williams for 38 years including 26 years as senior litigation partner.
Peter has extensive civil litigation experience in all New Zealand Courts, including the Privy Council on three occasions:

  • Clark Boyce v Mouat [1993] 3 NZLR 641 (solicitor’s negligence case.)
  • Lewis v Hyde [1998] 1 NZLR 12 (voidable preference case.)
  • Ngati Apa v Attorney General [2007] 2 NZLR 80 (judicial review over tribal boundaries.)
